There is no obligation to book my services during this appointment. Antenatal Care Booking appointment. This usually lasts 1-2 hours and is an opportunity to meet you and your family in the comfort of your own home. During this appointment I take a detailed record of your medical and family history and provide you with your handheld notes in which we can record not only your medical details but also your hopes and fears over the comming months. Antenatal appointments Antenatal appointments take place in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. The usual antenatal appointment schedule comprises of visits every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and finally weekly until the birth of your baby. During these visits your blood pressure and urine will be checked, along with fetal wellbeing and growth. There will be an opportunity to discuss any needs or concerns you may have. Should you require blood tests, scans or obstetric consultant input I will be happy to discuss this with you and make the required arrangements. I will provide a back up midwife who will get to know you and be available to support me at the birth of your baby and to undertake sickness cover if required. The Birth I am happy to offer homebirth, waterbirth and VBAC. Pool hire is included at no extra charge. Should you require or desire to transfer into hospital at any stage I will continue to be your advocate. Postnatal Care Flexible postnatal and breastfeeding support on an individualised basis for 28 days following delivery. This is also offered as a stand alone service.
